Originally an epic trilogy, it began with the film Star Wars later re-titled Episode IV : A new hope and was release in 1977. The film started a worldwide cultural phenomenon and five more films have been developed by George Lucas. Five television series and a large collection of books, comics, video games, action figures, card games, Lego sets etc have been produced.

	The Trade Federation has blockaded planet Naboo in the hope of resolving a galactic trade dispute, two Jedi Knight are sent by Chancellor Valorum of the Galactic Republic, Qui-Gon Jinn and a very young Obi-Wan Kenobi, a young and ambitious padawan. The two jedis have to meet with the Trade Federation to settle the crisis. But the dark sith Lord Darth Sidious is behind the invasion of Naboo by the droid army. A very strange character called Jar Jar Binks joins the two jedis, the Gungan takes them to their underwater settlement. Queen Amidala, leader of the Naboo is captured, the jedis have to rescue her and they set forth to Corusant, the Galactic Republic's capital planet to seek help from the senate. Their ship lands on the desert planet of Tatooine for repairs where they meet a nine-year-old human slave, gifted in piloting and mechanics called Anakin Skywalker. Qui-Gon senses a strong presence of the Force in little Anakin and believes he is the chosen one. An individual the Jedi believe will fulfil a prophecy by bringing the balance to the Force. Little Anakin takes part in a Podrace, here he has to compete with Sebulba a cheating little creature, but he not only wins the race but also becomes free from his master Watto. It's hard for little Anakin to leave his mother and the droid he was constructing called C3-P0. They are attacked by the Sith Darth Maul but they manage to escape and leave for Coruscant. The Sith have returned, the dark side of the Force is awake again. Amidala gets Chancellor Valorum removed from power and Palpatine takes his place. The queen decides to return to Naboo with the two Jedi, the faithful R2-D2, little Anakin and Jar Jar. On Naboo, Padmé reveals herself as Queen Amidala and forms an alliance with the Gungans for the battle against the Trade Federation. This fight finished with the capture of the Nute Gunray, Viceroy of the Trade Federation. The Jedi free several Naboo pilots who regain their star fighters and assault the Federation droid ship. They are confronted by Darth Maul, Qui-Gon is killed in the fight but young Obi-Wan defeats the Sith Darth Maul. Little Anakin joins the dogfight in space and destroys the droid-control ship's reactor with proton torpedoes which deactivates the droid army. As he dies Qui-Gon instructs Obi-Wan to train Anakin to become a Jedi. The newly elected Chancellor Palpatine congratulates Queen Amidala on her victory while the Jedi Council promotes Obi-Wan to the level of Jedi Knight. And Yoda accepts Obi-Wan's request to train Anakin as his padawan. A large celebration is held on Naboo, they celebrate the new alliance beteween the Naboo and the Gungans and their regained freedom.

	The Galactic Republic is in crisis. Former Jedi Master Count Dooku is leading a movement that is threatening peace. Senator Amidala returns to the Galactic Senate to vote against the creation of an Army of the Republic. After escaping a bomb attack she is protected by Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and his apprentice young Anakin Skywalker. Our friend Jar Jar assumes the Senator's duties while Amidala returns to Naboo escorted by Anakin. Obi-Wan following his investigation reaches the planet of Kamino, where a secret clone army is being developed for the Republic. The Kaminoan Prime Minister informs him that the army was ordered ten years before by a Jedi Master called Sifo-Dyas. The clones have been made to the template of a bounty hunter called Jango Fett who is the killer Obi-Wan has been tracking. Anakin is troubled by dreams in which his mother is in danger and dying so with Amidala they go to Tatooine. He finds his mother has been kidnapped by the Tusken Raiders. He tracks her to a Tusken camp where he finds her about to die, he has a fit of rage and kills the entire Tusken camp. The turn to the dark side has begun. On Geonosis, Obi-Wan learns that Count Dooku and Nute Gunray have built a new droid army and they have ordered the assassination of Amidala. Obi-Wan sends this information to Anakin before he is captured. The Jedi Council on Curscant send Jedi Master Mace Windu with a Jedi team to Geonosis. Jar Jar asks Chancellor Palpatine for emergency powers so he can call the clone army into battle. Count Dooku tries to persuade Obi-Wan to join him warning him that the senate is under the control of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. Obi-Wan is soon joined by Anakin and Amidala who have also been captured and are all sent into an arena where three huge creatures are unleashed on them for their execution. Master Mace Windu arrives with the Jedi and they battle the droid army, just as defeat seems imminent, Yoda arrives with the Republic's new clone army. During the battle Count Dooku tries to escape but Obi-Wan and Anakin track him and they engage in combat, Obi-Wan is injured and Anakin looses his right arm. Yoda arrives just in time but Dooku escapes with the plans for a new weapon. Dooku is revealed to be the apprentice Sith Lord Darth Tyranus. On Naboo Anakin with a new mechanical hand and Amidala hold a secret wedding to which only C-3P0 and R2-D2 are witnesses.
	Star Wars - Episode III - Revenge of the Sith	Index
	The Galaxy is in war. General Grievous has captured Chancellor Palpatine, a mission to rescue him is lead by Anakin Skywalker and Master Kenobi. The Jedi kill Count Dooku and free the chancellor but General Grievous captures them inside the damaged cruiser. On his return to Coruscant Anakin is told by his wife Amidala that she is pregnant. They are both very happy although Anakin is troubled by dreams of his wife dying in childbirth. The council wants Anakin to spy on Palpatine as they believe he is a traitor. Anakin doesn't like this as the Chancellor has become a mentor to him. Palpatine manipulates Anakin making him distrust the Jedi. Obi-Wan is sent to Utapau where he kills General Grievous. Palpatine reveals himself to Anakin as the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. Anakin informs the Council. Master Mace Windu arrives as the Chancellor's office and is about to slay the Chancellor when Anakin disarms him. Windu is killed by Lord Darth Sidious. Anakin then becomes the sith apprentice to Darth Sidious as he has been promised the power to save his wife’s life and he is given his Sith name Darth Vader. Darth Sidious orders Vader to kill all Jedi within the Jedi Temple. Palpatine sends clone troopers across the galaxy to kill the Jedi Generals. Many Jedi across the galaxy are exterminated. Though Yoda and Obi-Wan survive, Darth Vader kills all the Jedi in the Jedi Temple. Senator Bail Organa rescues Obi-Wan and Yoda and brings them to the Jedi Temple, they reconfigure a signal to warn all Jedi to keep away. They look into the security recording and see Vader carrying out the orders of Darth Sidious. Obi-Wan decides to find and kill Vader. When they reunite Padmé pleads with Vader to leave with her but he refuses. He wants to overthrow Palpatine so they can rule the galaxy together. Vader thinks that Padmé is betraying him with Obi-Wan so he chokes Padmé into unconsciousness. Vader and Obi-Wan engage in a fight and Obi-Wan slices off both of Vader's legs and his left arm. Vader rolls down the embankment and stops at the edge of the lava. He catches on fire and sustains fatal third degree burns and severe lung damage. But Darth Sidious rescues Vader from the brink of death. Padmé dies but the medical droids manage to save her babies. She delivers twins, a boy, Luke and a girl, Leia. On Coruscant Vader's missing limbs and damaged body parts are replaced by cybernetic prostheses and implants. Vader is dressed into a full suit of black armour and is sealed in a respirator mask which allows him to survive his injuries. Aboard the Tantive IV Obi-Wan and Yoda agree to keep the children hidden and separated. The Jedi will watch over them till the time for the Skywalker children to do their part in the battle against the Sith. Leia is taken to Alderaan to live with the Queen and Bail Organa and Luke is taken to Tatooine to live with Owen and Beru.
	Star Wars - Episode IV - A New Hope	Index
	Now we find the galaxy in a civil war. The Rebel Alliance has stolen the plans for the Galactic Empire's Death Star. The plans were sent on a ship in the service of Princess Leisa Organa or Alderaan. The Imperial Stormtroopers take control of the ship and Darth Vader arrives to supervise. Leia hides a hologrpahic recording in her droid R2-D2 and sends him with his partner C-3PO on an escape pod that crashes on planet Tatooine. The droids are captured by the Jawas and sold to Owen Lars. His nephew Luke Skywalker accidentally triggers part of the holographic message and he thinks the droid was stolen from an Obi-Wan Kenobi. The robot escapes and they set off to find it, they are attacked by the Sanpeople and are rescued by Master Kenobi. Master Kenobi tells Luke the story about the Jedi and reveals to Luke that his father was also a Jedi, skilled in a mysterious energy field called the Force. Obi Wan tells Luke that his father was betrayed and murdered by Darth Vader, they then view the message from Princess Leia who asks Obi-Wan to take the droid and the plans to Planet Alderaan. When Luke's family is killed and his home destroyed by the Stormtroopers, he leaves to Alderaan with Master Kenobi. At Mos Eisley Spaceport they find a smuggler named Han Solo who agrees to transport them on his ship the Millennium Falcon. Leia is resisting interrogation on the Death Star, she bluffs the position of the Rebel Base telling them it's on Dantooine to save her planet but Alderaan is destroyed anyway as a display of the Death Star's power. The Falcon is taken by the Death Star, Obi-Wan attempts to disable it so the group can escape. They rescue princess Leia and Master Kenobi engages in a lightsaber duel with Vader. Kenobi is killed but the group manages to escape. The group escapes but the Empire is tracking their ship to the Rebel Base. When they reach the rebel base, and with the help of the plans, they prepare their plans to destroy the Death Star. Several squadrons of Rebel ships are destroyed by Imperial fighters as Luke destroys the death star. In a civil ceremony at the Massassi temple Luke and Han Solo are awarded medals for their valour in the battle.
	Star Wars - Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back	Index
	The Galactic Empire has pursued the Rebel Alliance across the galaxy. The rebels have established a secret base on Hoth, a remote ice planet. Darth Vader sends robotic probes in search of the base and Luke Skywalker. Han Solo announces his intention to leave the Rebels to pay his debt to Jabba the Hutt, although he delays his departure to search for his friend Luke. Luke has an apparition of his mentor Master Kenobi who instructs him to receive training by Jedi Master Yoda on the planet Dagobah. An imperial probe droid transmits the location of the base to the Imperial fleet. When the Imperials land their assault walkers they eventually overpower the Rebels and capture their base. Luke and R2-D2 crash land on Dagobah, Luke meets a wizened, green little creature who eventually reveals himself to be Yoda. Han Solo and Princess Leia escape from the rebel base and go into an asteroid cave which turns out to be the oesophagus of a gigantic space slug. They go to Cloud City, a mining colony run by Lando Calrissian a friend of Han Solo who offers to help them repair their ship. But they are tricked into a trap and are captured by Darth Vader. Han Solo is frozen in suspended animation and given to bounty hunter Boba Fett who wants to return him to Jabba the Hutt for a large reward. When Luke arrives he starts a fierce lightsaber duel with Vader, Vader cuts off Luke's dueling hand along with his lightsaber. Vader informs Luke that he does not now the truth about his father. Luke claims that Vader killed him to which Vader tells him that he is his father. Vader tries to convince Luke to join him and embrace the Dark Side of the Force. Luke refuses and is rescued by the Falcon. On board a medical frigate Luke is fitted with an artificial hand. Meanwhile Lando and Chewbacca set off in the Falcon to locate Han Solo.
	Star Wars - Episode VI - The Return of the Jedi.	Index
	The Galactic Empire has been working on the construction of a new Space Station even more powerful than the first Death Star. Luke Skywalker and his friends return to Tatooine to attempt to rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt. Princess Leia frees Solo from the carbonite only to be captured and enslaved by Jabba. Several days later Luke arrives, he is dropped in the Great Pit to be slowly consumed by the Sarlacc, but they start a large battle in which Jabba is killed by Leia. Luke returns to Dagobah to complete his Jedi training, but Yoda is ill and says no further training is required. Before dying Yoda tells Luke that he must confront Vader who Yoda confirms is Luke's father. The spirit form of Kenobi appears and reveals that Princess Leia is Luke's twin sister. The rebels prepare an attack plan to deactivate the shield generator that protects the Death Star on the moon of Endor. On Endor, Luke and his friends encounter a tribe of Ewoks, an indigenous forest creature of Endor. With the help of C-3PO they establish an alliance with these curious creatures. After confessing to Leia the truth about her and Vader he submits to his father, trying to convince him to abandon the dark side. Vader takes his son to the Death Star to meet the Emperor who tells him about the trap that he has prepared. On the forest moon the Rebels helped by the Ewoks destroy the shield generator and the Rebel fleet destroy the Death Star. The Emperor tempts Luke to join him, Luke starts a duel with Darth Vader, Vader reads Luke's feelings and discovers that he has a twin sister. Then Vader gets the idea of turning Leia to the dark side. Luke cuts off Vader's robotic hand but Luke refuses to kill his father. The Emperor uses Force lightning to deliver Luke the final blow. Seeing his son dying Darth Vader turns on the Emperor and throws him into the reactor killing him. Anakin dies in his son's hands. Luke cremates the remains of his father in a funeral pyre on Endor. The balance has been restored to the force.
