The story of two men, one an evil crime lord, the other a risk-taking police officer. The initial scenes take place in 1996 Los Angeles, most of the film is set in the year 2032 where San Angeles (a city created from the joining of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and San Diego), California has become a peaceful paradise.

There are many funny scenes in this film, one of the best is the scene where Stallone finds out about Arnold Schwarzenegger becoming president.

It is very amusing to see the rough policeman living a new life in a world where police officers are more like famous models than rough law and order officers.

One mystery that is never mentioned in the film is how you use the three shells which John Spartan finds in the bathroom.

This film is a perfect combination between comedy and sci-fi. It's a must be for all sci-fi lovers.
